Scott LaRocca
Senior Vice President & Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer
Scott LaRocca (PMP, CISM, CSM, CDFM-A, DAWIA III, ITIL4) serves as Zantech's first-ever certified Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer, recognizing that AI has become central to business strategy and competitive differentiation in federal contracting. He brings over a decade of experience in program leadership, IT systems management, and acquisition strategy with a laser focus on empowering Zantech and federal clients with AI-augmented, scalable IT solutions. At Zantech since December 2019, Scott has demonstrated exceptional leadership in contractor workforce management and customer engagement, consistently earning praise from federal clients, teammates, and employees alike through his thoughtful communication and problem-solving skills.
Between Zantech and prior employers, Scott has successfully managed over a dozen DoD and DHS prime and subcontracts over the past decade, while serving more than three years in various business development roles spanning strategy development, capture, proposal writing, and subject matter expertise. His distinguished military career included seven years enlisted and 17 years as an officer in the United States Marine Corps, serving in positions from finance to acquisition to IT across multiple commands, including NATO Training Mission Afghanistan. This diverse background enables him to bridge the gap between technical innovation and mission-critical federal requirements.
Scott holds a Master's Degree in Information Technology Management from the Naval Postgraduate School, where he was personally recognized by the Secretary of the Navy as the "Most Outstanding Marine Graduate." His extensive certifications include PMP, CISM, CSM, CDFM-A, DAWIA Level III, ITIL4, AWS Business Professional, and Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt, reflecting his commitment to staying at the forefront of technology and process improvement. As a husband, father, and grandfather, Scott brings the same positive, encouraging leadership style to his family as he does to his employees, teammates, and partners—whether he's cheering on his grandkids or motivating his team through complex technical challenges, he believes that encouragement and resilience are the foundation of every success.
Who is your biggest professional role model?
“Chief Warrant Officer 4 Mike McCarty, USMC (ret.) was not just my professional role model, but he was a life coach who excelled at setting the example. His mantra was one of balance in all things. He exhibited and asked probing questions that led me to ponder balance and harmony in the things that matter most in life: work vs. personal life, physical vs. mental health, strength in relationships, material vs. spiritual needs, rest vs. activity, self-acceptance and growth. These tenets were all derived from several frameworks, and shaped CWO4 McCarty into one of the finest Marines and human beings I ever met and hope to become someday.”
