Naz Islam
President & Chief Executive Officer
Naz Islam, the President and CEO of Zantech IT Services, Inc., is a results-oriented strategic visionary with substantial managerial experience in information technology, finance, human resources, and customer relations. Since taking over leadership in 2019, she has successfully managed Zantech's expansion to a $18 million government contracting firm, developing long-term operational strategy, recruiting senior executive teams, and ensuring execution compliance while maintaining the highest customer satisfaction and retention rates. Her leadership has included detailed marketing planning, strategic partnerships, proposal management, and effective negotiation of teaming agreements and credit arrangements.
Before joining Zantech, Naz was Chief Operating Officer of Inpatient Medicine Associates (2009-2018), where her strategic leadership and operational acumen increased sales from $700,000 to more than $10 million. Her professional foundation was established throughout a 15-year career with the Canada Revenue Agency (1991-2006), where she rose through the ranks from Office Compliance Officer to Team Leader and Senior Office Auditor. In these roles, she led teams of 30 professionals, recovered millions of dollars in cash flow, and created comprehensive training programs while assuring compliance with complicated regulatory standards.
Naz earned a Bachelor's degree in Commerce and Sociology from the University of Toronto and has extensive experience in visionary leadership, strategic planning, business growth, IT strategy, project management, and government contracting. In addition to her professional accomplishments, she enjoys painting, reading, and traveling, all of which contribute to the creativity and global perspective she brings to her leadership role. Her commitment to family values has helped to develop the caring, supportive workplace culture that Zantech has become known for under her leadership.
Who in your life has had the biggest impact on how you lead, and what did they teach you?
“I’ve been fortunate to have two incredible mentors in my life: my father and my former manager at CRA. They taught me that practicality, perseverance and patience can carry you through any challenge that life throws at you. The most important lesson that I learned from them is that there’s strength in authenticity and that I never had to fear being myself. That lesson has remained with me and continues to influence my leadership style today. I encourage my team to embrace their unique strengths, perspectives, and approaches because authenticity isn’t just valuable; it’s powerful!”
